Ellerston Public School is a small, isolated rural school situated near the source of the Hunter River beneath the Barrington Ranges. There is no township as such and we draw children from a wide geographical area. Families are involved with a mix of rural employment on private properties or are employed by Ellerston Pastoral or Polo Company. There is strong community interest, support and involvement in the school. Our school's mission statement is Preparing our children for the future, through individually focussed learning in a caring and safe environment. We have two small classes and an experienced and committed teaching and ancillary staff. We believe we are well able to implement learning programmes that fully support each child's cognitive, social and emotional development.
