Dungay Public School is a small school on the outskirts of Murwillumbah. Throughout 2000 the school has increased its enrolment by 40%. The purpose of Dungay School is to: develop and implement programs which support effective learning in basic skills; ensure that all students have the opportunity to become actively involved in their learning; provide a safe and caring environment; acknowledge and value the roles that parents play as partners in the educational process; recognise and take pride in their achievements. This will be achieved through: initiating early identification of students with special talents/learning difficulties; providing welfare policies which ensure students are self disciplined, responsible and caring; promoting home/school learning; a community which has trust, confidence and pride in public education at Dungay School.
