| Dalmeny Public School was established in 2003. It is a developing school situated within a growing housing estate in Prestons. The school is set in spacious grounds with attractive landscaping and functional space, including a communal hall, canteen, two special programs rooms and a games court. We work with a multiculturally rich and supportive community. Our statement of purpose, "We work together to achieve a culture of quality learning", is reflected in our focus on literacy and numeracy programs. We provide a positive learning climate with programs focused on meeting individual needs and engaging students with their learning. Students are provided with a variety of additional sporting and extra curricula experiences which cater for differing abilities and interests. We offer students from our two special education classes the experience of integration into mainstream programs. We believe that learning for all is continuous and endeavour to implement best teaching practice to improve student learning outcomes. | ||||

| The school is new and the facilities are well looked after. The principle is strict with the uniform code and therefore the children always look nice. | My daughter has been going there for 2 years now and I don't believe the teaching staff have a lot of structure. My daughter often cannot tell me specifically what she learned during the day and hardly ever has homework. When she asked for more work to cover her weaker subjects the teacher never got back to her. I hope that this year I can have more contact with the teaching staff as I have never had it before. Physically the pick up and drop off area is poorly designed with traffic problems every afternoon. | There are virtually no fees but there is a cost for excursions etc. You will never get a receipt though or much later after the event. | ||

| My daughter attends Dalmeny and its a great school. Teachers are very helpful and keep students interested, principal is approachable, P&C active in the school, have support programs for reading and english as a second language. Home work is manageable and both schoolwork and homework are taught both as a class and on on individual level. Has special needs classes. teachers communicate regularly and are available for parents to talk to anytime before and after school | Parking is not the best. still getting some facilities. | We have always got receipts since the new principal started - for textbooks and excursions. School actively promotes parent and community involvement. Great school! | ||
