Canobolas Public School was established in 1878 in the orchard area six kilometres from Orange. It is a three-teacher school set in tree-studded grounds with many beautiful gardens around the buildings. The school has always had a strong community bond and this continues to grow in strength even though many children now travel from town each day, rather than living in the immediate area. Each child in the school is seen as an individual and the curriculum is planned accordingly to cater for each child's needs. We work constantly to improve their self-esteem and self-confidence. We seek to promote excellence and to encourage each child to achieve his/her maximum potential. This is achieved by providing quality educational programmes and giving the children as many opportunities as possible. They are able to take part in all OSSA sporting teams, providing them with the opportunity to represent at school, district, region and state levels. Some children have represented at three of these levels.
